Why Do You Want to Raise Your Vibration?

In my last post, I introduced the idea of raising your vibration level.

Maybe you read the last post and thought, “That’s a good idea. I’ll do that when I get my life on track.” If you haven’t realized it yet, your vibration level is key to success in every area of your life.

Do you have parts of your life that are a mess no matter what you do? Read on to discover why raising your vibration level might just be the answer you are looking for.

What do I mean when I say “vibration”?

In my last post, I described vibration as a level of consciousness, which is our state of being awake and aware of our surroundings. It also includes our ability to be aware of our inner state or our emotions.

According to David Hawkins (Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior (2002)), your level of consciousness creates your behavior. Based on your level you decide where to place your attention and take action based on that information. This decision can be conscious or unconscious.

As you read the following questions, think about how the answer causes you to focus on different aspects of your life:

  • What is wrong and who is to blame?
  • Why do I feel all this grief (or shame or fear)?
  • What are some ways that will help me improve my life?
  • How can I serve or help others?

In every moment, we are exposed to much more information than we can ever hope to process. We delete much of this information so that we can focus on what is important to us. This happens very quickly and is often outside of our conscious awareness.

How do you know what to pay attention to?

Your level of consciousness drives your choices. Your level of consciousness is not a single number on the Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness. It is the sum total of all aspects of your life. See my last post for a partial list. Some areas of your life may measure low, while others are high.

When I measured my level of health and fitness, I rated high. This means that I am drawn to information on health and fitness. I find it easy to exercise and eat healthy. And when I make positive life choices I enhance my already high level.

Another person, Linda (not her real name), rates low on “how you treat yourself”. Whenever she has a problem she always blames herself. She is surprised when it turns out that she was not to blame.

This explains so much

Maybe you have beating yourself up because you struggle in a particular area of your life. You’ve tried everything and nothing seems to work.

It’s not your fault!

Your vibration level gets set early in life. According to Hawkins, you can even be born with a preset level, based on your karma.

So, here is the bottom line. Unless you become aware of your vibration level and take steps to change it, you will continue to struggle.

How to change your vibration

First of all, become aware of your vibration level for important aspects of your life. Then take action to make changes.

Here are two ways:

  • Make positive or life affirming choices in your lowest areas.
  • Use the poetry of emotion process to release low vibration emotions and beliefs.

Raising your vibration level to love and joy can totally change your life.
