If you want to communicate with your emotions you will need to learn a new language – the poetry of emotion. Don’t worry you are already speaking this language; you just don’t realize it.
When you say “My heart is broken” or “I have the weight of the world on my shoulders” or “I have a warm heart” or “I’m burning up with rage” you are speaking the language of emotion. These are cultural poems and we all know what they mean. You may not realize that these poems describe sensations felt in the body.

Everyone knows how to time travel. Whenever you recall a happy event from your childhood your mind is traveling in time. Whenever you feel guilty about something you did when you were small you are time traveling. You can place your consciousness anywhere you choose.
Being able to travel back in time to a positive memory and avoid any painful memories is a key skill in the poetry of emotion process (Step 2). This makes the poetry of emotion process is as painless as possible.

Discovering your time poem is an optional step but many people find it helps them understand their life better. This understanding can be useful when you start discovering positive emotions and releasing painful emotions. If you have not already discovered your time line see You Already Know How to Time Travel. Time line poems are varied. Some examples of time line poems include: a road, a highway, a race track, a narrow mountain path, a lazy river, a beam of light, a rope, or a treadmill.

If you’ve read this far you will not be surprised to discover that the resources you need are poems. One easy way to engage powerful resources is to visualize a helper. Selecting a helper makes the release step much easier.
A helper represents exactly what you needed in the past when the problem emotion became stuck in your body. Your younger self had unmet needs. That child may have needed love, nurturing, safety, protection, acceptance, or respect. That younger self may have felt misunderstood or confused.
The helper embodies the power you need. The helper communicates positive emotions and qualities to your unconscious mind in the language of the unconscious. The word “protected” conveys a meaning to your conscious mind; the image of a guardian angel conveys a much deeper meaning to your unconscious mind.

You are ready to release a false emotion and reclaim you true emotions. Before you start this step you need to be able to describe your emotion as a poem and to travel back in time.
The three steps:
1. Discover the poem for the emotion you wish to release.
2. Find a time before you ever had the problem emotion.
3. Release the problem emotion using resources from your younger self.

You may not be aware that many of your emotions are not related to the present moment and can affect your success. We have two kind of emotions: those from the present moment and those from the past. When you feel an emotion do you know where it comes from?
You can decide if emotions from the past are still affecting you. Is there an emotion from childhood you are still holding onto? This can be a positive emotion such as a great vacation with your family or winning an award. Or this can be an unpleasant emotion such as an embarrassing moment at school or being called a hurtful name. Many unpleasant emotions are not the result of a trauma yet they continue to affect your life and your success.
